Assistant Fire Chief

With the upcoming retirement of our Chief of Operations & Training, the Clearcreek Fire District is looking for someone with a positive attitude, is a sincere team player, possesses leadership qualities, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and who can accept and handle significant levels of responsibility to fill the position of Assistant Chief. Experience in leadership, public relations, planning, organizing, and emergency services are a must. We are looking for someone with a strong passion for the job!

The Clearcreek Fire District has three Divisions managed by Assistant Chiefs: Operations & Training, Administration, and Risk Management & EMS Administration. The person hired for this position may be asked to fill any of these three roles depending on their skillset and experience.

To be considered for the position, applicants shall possess at least ten years of full-time experience working in emergency services with a minimum of five years being supervisory, an associate’s degree in emergency services administration/management or related field, Paramedic, Level II Firefighter, Fire Officer 1 & 2, Instructor, NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800, and a valid Ohio driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications are a bachelor’s degree or higher in an emergency services related field or public administration, Fire Safety Inspector, Blue Card Certified, and completion of the Ohio Fire Executive (OFE) or Executive Fire Officer (EFO) program.
This is an FLSA exempt position with a salary of $127,576 plus excellent benefits.
